IllustrationX is proud to represent Javier Arrés, one of the world’s leading GIF artists and one of Spain’s brightest illustration talents. Working with ink on paper and digitally, Javier renders imaginary worlds in super high definition. The detail he puts into every work is a trigger for the imagination, inviting the viewer to explore an extraordinary new universe.
Clients love the way Javier embraces each project, and the dedication he puts into bringing their visions to life. He has a gift for engaging his audience, and is a true professional, sharing his process along the way and precisely meeting his brief.
Visual Toys is the name Javier has given to the personal universe he draws and animates. With a degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia from the Escuela Arte Granada, his influences include the computer game Sim City, Steampunk, Surrealism and the Back to the Future movies.
Javier’s process begins with pure imagination, evolving into mad sketching as he assembles the objects, icons, machines and characters that will go into the final work. His media include felt tips, India ink on watercolour paper, Photoshop and After Effects, where he puts them in motion.
‘Hyperdetailism’ is one way of describing Javier’s style. Watching him draw and looking at his work pulls you across the line between reality and fantasy.
