Martha Napier always receives rave reviews from her live drawing clients because of the flair and entertainment value she brings to each event. As well as wowing guests with her deft brushwork, she can create unique keepsakes for attendees to take home with them – a special reminder of the occasion, valued because it was painted by a professional fashion illustrator.
Splitting her time between New York and Chicago, live event illustration has always been part of Martha’s career. When she started off as a freelance illustrator, she would draw the fashion elite at New York Fashion week and post the images on Instagram. The huge following she generated helped launch her career and now she works for some of the biggest luxury and haute couture brands, helping create a fresh buzz around her clients and their collections.
Working mainly in watercolors, Martha paints quickly and expressively following an approach rooted in classic fashion illustration. She can complete a portrait in three to five minutes, each brushstroke filled with beautiful artistry.
Martha’s natural illustration style is whimsical, gestural and fun, making it perfect for the live drawing environment. She captures the essence and energy of each sitter while also chatting with them and making sure they enjoy the experience as a unique portrait unfolds before their eyes.
Martha’s live event drawing clients include The New Yorker, David Yurman, Bloomingdales, New York Fashion Week, Dressbar, Old Navy, Barney’s and Ella McHugh.
