Andreas Höher

Andreas comes from the Rurh region of the country – an area he loves because the people are plainspoken and down to earth, just like his work. He’s influenced by the photorealist painters of the 1960s, and by photographers like Stephen Shore and Joachim Brohm. Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture, designs by Norman Bel Geddes and the steampunk aesthetic also inspire him. After studying illustration at the Ruhrakademie in Schwerte, Andreas took a series of further training courses and learned how to use 3D software. He still enjoys taking further training and updating his skills.

Approach

Andreas is a fully digital illustrator and is a master of tools like Cinema 4D and Photoshop. Using them, he creates machines, scenes and entire worlds for his clients.

Style

Whether he’s designing a robotic fish or putting the finishing touches to a complex car illustration, Andreas strives for hyper-realism. It’s part of his practical nature, and his engineering background shines through in many of his works. Filled with cogs, gears, levers and pulleys, there’s always a sense that his creations would actually work in the real world.
