Nigel Sussman produces an illustration for Atlas Obscura on the 1,100-Mile Hedge through the middle of India.

The Great Hedge was built for salt tax purposes by the British Empire in the 19th century and took around thirty years to erect. Nigel was given the text to read and created his illustration based on the story, he remarks, "...The one piece of feedback I got after my initial sketch was, "'Could you make some of the figures look less cheerful?" By all accounts this hedge was difficult to maintain.' Read the article here.
