Ellie Compton's art supports NZ Blind Low Vision charity

Refurbished Canine Coin Collectors

A charitable initiative combines Ellie Compton's artistry with the charity NZ Blind Low Vision.

Ellie undertook a project with the charity NZ Blind Low Vision, aimed at repurposing the once-ubiquitous life-sized dog coin collection boxes that had adorned various urban and retail spaces. Due to the shift towards a cashless society and the increasing value of retail space, many collection sites now favour smaller counter-top boxes.

Ellie's redesigned canine sculpture is now up for auction, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting the raising, breeding, and training of future generations of Blind Low Vision NZ Guide Dogs. Her design is infused with steampunk influences and playful animal motifs, adding a unique and engaging touch to the charitable initiative.
