Teaching Across Borders

Gina was invited as a tutor to LIFI, organized by the Book Buzz Foundation and led by writer Lola Shoneyin, bringing together illustrators from around the world to celebrate illustration as a universal language.

Over three days, she led workshops and gave a talk on her professional journey, collaborating with fellow Latin American tutors Caio Zero and Geraldine de Leon. The festival connected Gina with talented artists from Spain, Slovenia, Brazil, and Venezuela, while Nigerian students impressed her with their energy, curiosity, and creativity.

Her participation highlighted the festival’s mission to nurture learning, cultural exchange, and local storytelling, supporting Lola’s goal of publishing 100 children’s books in Nigeria by 2027.
