On a Birdwatch with Baby began as something simple; a story the author wrote for his daughter.

That personal starting point shaped the work Genna was asked to illustrate. Her bright, graphic style, built around playful colour and shape, gives the book an easy warmth that feels right at home in a board book for young readers. Clean forms and cheerful characters keep the focus on the experience at the heart of the story: sharing a small interest with someone you love.
