Alan Baker
受20世纪70年代嬉皮士精神的T雷克斯（T Rex）和随之而来的奇幻插画风格的启发，艾伦贝克有说不完的精彩故事。有一次，他怀揣35英镑竟从欧洲搭便车一路到了阿富汗。他还因在自家花园里填埋洗碗机和洗衣机而众所周知。这些都是真实的故事，但当谈到幻想插图时，他的想象力更是无与伦比的。他满柜子的奖章奖品就是最好的证明。
在研究动物学方面没什么建树，不过艾伦却发现自己爱上了画画。他转向插画，并获得布莱顿大学前身学校学位。 1976年毕业后，他开始了插画家的生涯。
艾伦幼时的记忆多有色彩及光照的不同投影变化。现在，他使用Photoshop在屏幕上创作他的作品，然后手工绘制图像的各种元素，最终以数字方式划分图层。
虽然艾伦的主题往往是幻想，但他的作品中却有一种惟妙惟肖的现实主义和高度关注细节的特点。无论是龙还是睡鼠，皮肤，头发，毛皮和羽毛都可以活灵活现地呈现在他的手下。
