Inspired by playground games passed between generations, Brincadeiras do Brasil turns traditional activities into a collection of illustrated cards designed to encourage children to spend less time on their phones and more time playing together. For the project, Manu was commissioned by Mol Impacto to create illustrations for five games: Trem Maluco, A Canoa Virou, Amarelinha da Semana, Batata Quente and Stop.
Created in partnership with toy retailers RiHappy and PB Kids, the game also supports the NGOs Amigos do Bem and AACD, with a donation made for every deck sold.
Drawing on her work for younger audiences, Manu used strong shapes, a reduced palette and playful characterisation to capture the spirit of each game.
