Monaghan on Wheels

For Donough, this was a commission close to home. Created for his native County Monaghan, the artwork transforms a mobile library van into a tribute to the places, people and legends that have shaped the region.

Working alongside Saoi Studio, Donough filled the wrap with local landmarks, figures from Irish mythology and literary names including Bram Stoker, Jonathan Swift and Patrick McCabe.

Commissioned as part of Monaghan Libraries' centenary celebrations, the van will spend the coming years travelling to schools across the county, bringing books, stories and a distinctly local piece of illustration to new generations of readers.
