Emily Robertson

Originally from Somerset in the UK, Emily relocated to the Dordogne region of France where she has discovered entirely new biomes and species to inspire her. Passionate about nature for as long as she can remember, to this day she fills her sketchbooks with insects, birds and animals of all descriptions. She loves the way nature continually changes, through the seasons and over the years. Emily communicates well, keeping her clients up to date on their project, taking feedback at each stage as the artwork develops. They love the meticulous level of detail she manages to achieve, giving each print rich, tangible textures. Emily has a degree in Fine Art from Falmouth University. Approach Each print begins as a series of sketches, which Emily uses to resolve the composition. Once transferred to a linoleum tile, the image is carefully cut into the surface to create a print relief. Images can be monochrome or colour – Emily has mastered multi-colour block printing. Key software Procreate Style Graphic and featuring strong contrast between positive and negative space, Emily’s style is defined by her linocut approach. Yet the exacting application of small marks results in textures that augment the physical appeal of the finish. Languages English and French
