Fionna Fernandes shines the spot light on environmental issues in her piece for Scholastic. Fionna was commissioned to illustrate a portrait of conservationist Rachel Carson against a forest background. The dynamic image appears in the May/June 2018 issue of “Storyworks” Scholastic Classroom Magazine and accompanies the play “The Bird Saver”. The thought-provoking biographical play follows scientist and nature writer Rachel Carson in her battle to expose the truth about the pesticide DDT.
