First Americans Museum

Mark Oliver shares some work from an impressive project for a new museum opening in Oklahoma.

Mark was commissioned by Storyline Studios in Seattle to work on an immersive 'walk-in illustration' featured in the Discovery Centre section of FAM (First Americans Museum); a new attraction opening this September.

Mark explains, "It is a complete walk-in illustration with 40 foot multiplane landscapes, 30 ft 3D illustrated trees, 8ft animated 3d animal guides and masses of interactive attractions." The museum states that Visitors walk into a pop-up book world that is familiar yet magical. Animal guides help lead visitors through experiences within the space shaped to convey important cultural values such as respect, community, resilience and stewardship. There is something for every age group. The space is playful, sometimes funny, and always safe. It combines hands on activities, physical challenges and media rich interactives to emphasize “we are all connected.”

With the Discovery Centre completed in about a year, the project is ongoing and we look forward to seeing the finished sets and models soon!
