Creating something described only in a novel's pages was the starting point for Svetlana's cover design for The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow. Commissioned by Illumicrate, the brief called for the book to resemble a mysterious manuscript that exists within the story itself.
Drawing on the author's description, Svetlana designed a cover centred on a dragon devouring its own tail, with the protagonist's magical sword appearing on the reverse. The challenge was to make an imagined object feel tangible, giving readers a version of the manuscript they could hold in their hands.
