Nina Hunter's Photo - Decorative illustrator. UK

Intricate organic lines, sumptuous patterns and flowing script-based lettering are what set the perfect tone for clients in the work of Yorkshire-based illustrator Nina Hunter. A versatile artist, Nina loves exploring and experimenting with phrases and decorative textual styles, finding fresh and interesting ways to craft the wording for each brief she works on. Clients appreciate the way Nina keeps them up to date on their projects, engaging them in her creative process.
Growing up in Poland, Nina was surrounded by art and music, and both her parents were architects. With an MA in Graphic Design and Fine Art, she specialised in oil painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk before moving to the UK and becoming a full-time illustrator. Some of her main influences include Polish folk art and Victorian typography, alongside artists such as Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt and Aubrey Beardsley.

Approach

Surrounding herself with beautiful things in her studio, Nina continually varies her technique, mixing oil painting skills with digital tools to create new and unique works for each project she works on.

Style

Both in terms of the illustrations she creates, and her typographic work, Nina’s style is characterised by feminine themes, soft, delicate lines and swirling embellishments using a range of colour palettes and typographic styles.

Client list

Some of Nina’s clients include Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, BOSE, Debenhams and the Royal Academy of Music.
