La ilustradora con sede en Berlín Martha von Maydell diseña imágenes en papel que son tan táctiles que la gente quiere alcanzar y tocar. Plumas, copos de nieve, hojas y más aparecen en muchas de sus mejores piezas, pero es lo suficientemente versátil como para crear de todo, desde seres humanos hasta cohetes. Cada componente se corta meticulosamente del papel, y cada ilustración reúne color, forma y textura de formas únicas e inspiradoras.
Las plantas y los animales son fuentes clave de inspiración para Martha. Después de estudiar diseño gráfico, trabajó en un estudio, y antes de convertirse en ilustradora fue asistente de producción en la serie de televisión CGI Super 4, inspirada en los juguetes de Playmobil.

Acercarse

Todo lo que crea Martha se corta de papel de colores y se pega. Le encanta no solo formar las imágenes a partir de las formas, sino construirlas para que los contornos y las sombras sean claros, dando a la obra de arte mucha textura y, por lo tanto, mucha más presencia física. A veces usa un poco de polvo de tiza para crear transiciones de color, aportando otra dimensión al enfoque de papercraft.
