Alex continues "This is new news - but it turns out that most ovarian cancers develop from irregular cells on the tips of the fimbria. So this is a study looking at the reduction rates for future ovarian cancers if both fallopian tubes are removed (bilateral salpingectomy) while the patient is in the OR for another unrelated surgery."
