Megan writes, illustrates and designs Birds, Blooms & Bugs, a 32-page book releasing in Australia this month.

The book surveys the ‘backyard’ as a flexible idea, moving from suburban gardens and balconies to parks and coastal edges, with a focus on accessible wildlife and plant life. Megan uses bold colour, clean line and dense compositions to encourage slow looking and repeat engagement, with each spread operating as both a scene and an index, embedding facts and hidden elements within tightly organised layouts.

Bright and visually engaging, the format also supports both independent discovery and guided reading, aligning with the publisher’s focus on educational, design-led children’s titles.
