Deadlock - A Special Edition

It's not often an illustrator gets the chance to revisit the same book through a completely new commission. When FairyLoot released its exclusive edition of Deadlock by Chloe Gong, they turned to Carolina to create artwork for the special release, having previously illustrated the novel's standard edition for another publisher.

Produced in collaboration with the author and Hodderscape, the collector's edition accompanies the young adult sci-fi sequel to Coldwire. Set in a world where virtual reality, power and resistance collide, the story follows Eirale, Nik, Kieren and Lia as they attempt to challenge the influence of NileCorp.

Returning to the project gave Carolina the opportunity to offer a fresh interpretation of a story she already knew well, bringing a new perspective to FairyLoot's edition.
