Debora Islas

With a degree in Graphic Design from Universidade Paulista, Débora has worked in publishing companies, giving her an in-depth understanding of the creative process and how today’s brands communicate. Creatively, she never stands still, and on top of her degree has studied art direction, watercolor, photojournalism, infographics, illustrative lettering and more. Nature and its rich detail and colors inspire her, as does photography – particularly the works of Julia Rodrigues, Júlia Amaral and Nani Rodrigues. Visual artists she admires include Lucila Dominguez, Priscila Barbosa and Brunna Mancuso.

Approach

Highly skilled with pencils, crayons, watercolors, gouache and digital techniques, Débora constantly experiments, bringing various media together to push the boundaries while conveying the right message. She enjoys working in fine strokes, with a soft, feminine palette and tries to include nature in her work.
