The Gig Economy

Chicago-based Luckbox magazine ask Jonathan Allardyce to create an illustration for the cover of their December issue.

The theme of the artwork is the gig economy, night hustles and moonlighting; the jobs people do after work as a second income. Jonathan explains,  "The image shows a person in split view, one side showing the daytime office job, sitting at a computer wearing headphones, and the other side showing that same person driving Uber or Lyft at night, steering wheel in foreground taking the place of the computer, with a decal showing the Uber and Lyft logos." The cover is a fresh and clear comparison of two roles and one life, executed in Jonathan's accessible style.
