Marieke's part in the project was to create a mix of spontaneous line drawings as well as a painterly cover and endpaper for a Spanish version of the book

A classic piece of children's literature; the adventure follows a boy growing up along the Mississippi River in the 19th century, one that is captured by Marieke's drawings in a thrilling way.
