Portrait painting of kids

Inspired

Diego Abreu, inspired by the work of Norman Rockwell, creates timeless art.

The pieces act as a Rockwell tribute - ths first is of three kids playing a marble game; also inspired by Slim Aarons' photographs and the second, a boy holding a newspaper with news about AI.

Using earthy tones and a painterly texture, Diego bring his own touch to the artworks. In doing so, he reflects on Rockwell's revolutionary style, blending realism with softer elements - a departure not widely embraced during that era. Diego raises questions about the the trend of treating art as mere reproduction, much like Rockwell's link of photography and traditional illustration, and highlights the significance of authenticity in an artist's work, emphasising that true artistry cannot be replaced by artificially crafted pieces.
