Desert Botanicals

For Wine Enthusiast’s March issue, Claire Rollet crafts a sun-drenched, contemporary homage to field guides.

Celebrating the foraged roots of America’s most distinctive spirits, Claire brings a crisp, elegant line to the rustic heart of Western botanicals.

The March feature explores the distillation profiles of juniper and ponderosa pine – both staples in craft spirits across the American West. Claire's contemporary take on classic field guide aesthetics includes carefully labeled cones, needles, trees and spirit bottles, using a fresh palette that evokes vintage botanical prints.

Capturing the romance of the landscape and its intoxicating ingredients, she says, "I loved drawing these, I was transported into the desert, sitting on my porch looking at cactuses in the distance!" It’s a dreamy blend of research, nostalgia and modern clarity – the perfect toast to artisanal craftsmanship.
