The Invisible Wild

A luminous cover by Carolina Rodriguez Fuenmayor is a tale of ancient spirits, hidden worlds, and a teenage girl’s extraordinary journey.

Carolina was commissioned by Running Press Kids to create the cover artwork for The Invisible Wild, the latest novel by bestselling author Nikki Van De Car.

Aimed at readers aged 8 and up, this richly woven fantasy draws on Hawaiian mythology - specifically the legend of the Menehune, a mysterious, ancient people said to live hidden in the forests.

Carolina's atmospheric illustration sets the tone for a story that blends contemporary adventure with spiritual folklore, as sixteen-year-old Emma uncovers a forgotten realm between worlds and races to protect the only home the Menehune have ever known.

Balancing dreamlike detail with a sense of urgency, the cover draws readers into a world where memory, magic and myth converge.
