Love in the New Millennium

For the Brazilian edition of Histórias de Amor no Novo Milênio (Love in the New Millennium), published by the São Paulo–based Fósforo Editora, Zansky created a cover that mirrors the novel’s surreal and elliptical atmosphere.

Infused with subtle visual cues drawn from the narrative, the design blurs the line between tangible detail and dreamlike suggestion, echoing Can Xue’s exploration of desire, humor and fragility within the confines of an industrial city.

By embedding symbols that feel simultaneously familiar and elusive, Zansky captures the novel’s shifting reality, offering readers a visual entry point into a world where boundaries dissolve and the search for happiness takes on hallucinatory textures.
