Shifting Symbols

Philipp's commission for The Locked Library and Harper Voyager invites readers to take the cover into their own hands. Designed as a fully illustrated sticker sheet, the work introduces a modular layer to the Katabasis special edition, allowing each copy to be individually composed.

Philipp approached the surface like a grid in motion, placing ladders, symbols and creatures as movable fragments that echo the book’s shifting narrative logic.

The result is both graphic and tactile, extending the reading experience beyond the page and into a quiet act of assembly.
