IllustrationX artists featured in American Illustration 45

American Illustration Recognition

Four IllustrationX artists have been recognised in American Illustration 45, one of the most respected awards in the industry.

Juliette Toma received a Selected Winner for her self-initiated portrait of Doechii - with the piece featured in the printed hardcover awards book.

Mel Cerri, Victoria Fomina and Patrick Boyer were all named Chosen Winners, with their work included in the online archive.

Mel Cerri’s entry comes from Play It Forward (Chronicle Books), a collection of 25 inspirational stories about women in sport, curated by TOGETHXR.

Victoria Fomina was recognised for work from The Green Witchery Tarot Deck, a project rooted in medieval symbolism and traditional witchcraft references, reinterpreted in her own folksy style.

And Patrick Boyer’s selected work is a series of opera posters created for the 2026 Buxton International Festival, exploring the tension between historical and contemporary narratives and shifting ideas around women’s roles in society.

It’s a strong showing across very different practices, from publishing and editorial illustration through to cultural and performance-led projects.

Congratulations to all!
