Andressa Meissner creates the cover for Yosha Gunasekera's novel Moonlight Detective, published by Berkley, marking her second collaboration with the author.
Andressa was asked to capture a story that moves between the streets of New York and the city's lesser-seen spaces below ground.
The novel follows cab driver and investigator Siri Paiboun as a stalking case develops into a murder investigation, drawing her into a network of forgotten tunnels, abandoned stations and long-buried secrets beneath Manhattan.
Andressa's cover reflects the novel's shifting setting. The artwork nods to both the streets of Manhattan and the hidden network beneath them, drawing readers into a mystery built around buried secrets and unanswered questions.
