A Taste of New Orleans

From gumbo to beignets, Débora Islas illustrates culinary icons for the Spring issue of New Orleans Magazine.

The Magazine asked Débora to add a visually rich layer to their cooking feature, The New Orleans Kitchen.

Charged with capturing the essence of 14 iconic local dishes, Débora created a series of full-color illustrations that accompany each recipe, transforming the editorial into an immersive visual feast.

From the bold reds of crawfish étouffée to the powdered sugar dusting of a perfect beignet, each plate is rendered with warmth, texture, and unmistakable charm.

Designed to simulate the feel of a treasured recipe book, the spreads are both informative and indulgent.
