People's Choice

Colombian illustrator Gina Rosas Moncada receives the People's Choice Award in the Illustration category at this year's Latin American Design Awards for her work on Schwarzkopf Professional's Christmas Gift Set collection.

Four students from four different countries provided the starting point for Gina's artwork for Schwarzkopf's gift boxes. Created for the BLONDME, FIBRE CLINIX and BONACURE ranges, the illustrations were inspired by the students' home cultures as part of Shaping Futures, the brand's programme supporting the next generation of hairdressers. Looking to regional textiles, craft traditions and other cultural references, Gina created a series of designs rooted in those stories.

That thoughtful approach resonated with voters, earning Gina the People's Choice Award in the Illustration category. A wonderful achievement, and very well deserved.
