T.S Spookytooth

T.S Spookytooth - Award winning children's illustrator. London

Dark, mysterious and highly talented, TS Spookytooth is an award-winning children’s illustrator who produces work that is one part scary, one part funny and 100 per cent engaging. And even though nobody has ever seen TS in the flesh, clients still find the elusive artist easy to collaborate with, full of creative ideas and focused on meeting their deadlines.
As well as a slew of awards after his name, TS has vast experience in the industry, working for a range of publishing companies and international brands. It’s not all ghosts and monsters either – his educational work breaks new ground. Some of TS’s influences include Edward Gorey, Lane Smith and Shaun Tan.

Approach

TS develops his images from thumbnail sketches, working out a composition before going to larger scale drawings. When he has something that works, he’ll fine tune things with his client before proceeding to a finished rough, followed by the colouring phase using paints, brushes and a dash of Photoshop to make things pop.

Style

The dark and spooky side of TS Spookytooth’s style is what children find so thrilling, yet he always provides those vital elements of charming characters, strong visual storytelling and a touch of humour in each project he works on.
